Lamar reviews: Hannah Montana
For girls 7-14, I’m giving this movie 5 Bubble Gum flavored Lip Glosses!

LISTEN
I had to wait a while for the movie to start so I spent some time with a bevy of 10-12 year old girls.
It’s like studying Monkeys in the wild. After a while they stop noticing you and revert to their normal behavior. They were running up and down the isles, jumping over seats, talking major smack to each
other, and in all my life I’ve never heard longer or louder burps in my life. It was a cross between a frat party and a gang initiation. But when the movie started, total silence followed by giggles, cheers,
and clapping. The movie stars of course Miley Cyrus and her Pimp…I mean Pop Billy Ray Cyrus.
Not since Colonel Parker took Elvis to the top has there been a more shameless promoter.
I watched the Country Music Awards the other night and Billy Ray had the privilege of introducing Miley doing her new song. By the time he got through promoting her new movie and his new album I thought I was watching a Shamwow infomercial. I looked down and had a pen and paper in my hand ready to write down the toll free number. Let’s understand what this movie is. It is not something that is going to change the world. It’s not going to make you think. It’s a movie based on a Disney TV show that has 180 million viewers. If you don’t watch the show you won't watch the movie, and they don’t care, plenty of people will. In the movie she gets too caught up in the Hanna Montana lifestyle and is ignoring her family and friends. Her dad Robbie Ray played by real life Dad Billy Ray decides to take her back to Tennessee for her Grandmothers birthday so she can get in touch with her normal side. There she meets a cute boy played by Lucas Till. The town desperately needs to raise some money and a Hannah Montana concert seems to be the only solution. This puts both Miley and Hannah in the same town so this calls for many hectic costume changes. This is a princess movie and nobody does that better than Disney. The locations are beautiful and there is a song every three minutes. And of course they have the big crowd doing the line dance. There are a couple of interesting cameos Rascal Flats sings and so does Taylor Swift. It is Rated G which is hard to find. 102 minutes and if you take your kids I dare you to make it all the way through without tapping your feet.
